About US

A little about me: I have involved in the hair and beauty industry for over 35 years. I began my career with Stefan Hair Fashions in the late 80’s and began managing salons and teams in my early 20’s. I am proud to have been a business owner for over 25 years. As an employer, I have trained many hairdressers through apprenticeships and I have owned several very successful salons. As an educator, I was part of a team of national educators and presenters for Redken Australia. During this time, it was my great honour to present seminars and workshops throughout Australia, and the Internationally acclaimed Hair Expo. Internationally, I have worked in New York, USA and British Columbia, Canada.

I am also a professionally trained singer and musician, completing a Bachelor of Music at the Qld Conservatorium of Music, majoring in Opera and Jazz. I don’t sing much these days -only in the shower and at parties after a glass of champagne or two! 🙂

In 2021, I completed a Master’s degree at QUT, in the field of secondary high school teaching, specialising in Humanities, young adult and adolescent learning and childhood trauma. I am passionate about the importance and power of education. As a fiercely proud mum to a wonderful young adult son, I am dedicated to equipping him with an understanding of the importance of accountability and contributing to society.

In my current business, Iris&Ivy Hair at Kenmore Village, I am dedicated to providing quality hairdressing and service to all our customers, and I am proud to be supported by our wonderful young apprentices and a team of highly qualified senior stylists, all who have at least 30 years experience as hairdressers.

This is my vision:

To always learn, to always challenge myself and others. My goal is to be the best version of myself, to encourage that within others, and to be able to enjoy watching my son become a wonderful young man. Personally, I would love to be able to impart my understanding of the boundless possibilities in our lives- that we don’t have to confine ourselves to socially constructed ideals- we can live with mindfulness, and sincerity, allow positive energy to flow into every aspect of our existence

I truly look forward to continuing to serve my community, providing fabulous hair and outstanding experiences for many years to come.
